We’d like to thank all those who have so far donated or pledged to support the “Complete the Journey” appeal.

But more, please!

A further update is expected today on the condition of Sean Newman after his horrific accident whilst attempting with colleague James Golding to raise £100,000 for UK cancer charities by cycling across America. Newman remains seriously ill in hospital in the US.

The pair needed to cross the finishing line to realise their own pledge. At the time of the accident – when a lorry smashed into them at 70mph – they had raised £50,000 and need the same again.

The ‘Complete the Journey’ appeal has a long way to go, but nothing could give a greater boost to Newman as he struggles with severe injuries, including a broken back, both broken legs and a shattered pelvis.

Giving could not be easier and the cause could not be more important, so please do get your wallets out now.

We would like to think that everyone in the EAT community could donate £10. But every single pound counts, so please feel free to give less or more.

Just go to https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/donate/makeDonationForFundraiserDisplay.action?fundraiserActivityId=1070

We also like the example set by Harrison Murray, which is donating £1 for every viewing made across the firm’s 15 branches in the week commencing July 26. The firm hopes to contribute over £1,000 and has already announced the initiative to the local press.

If YOU are doing anything special to help Newman and Golding reach their target, please let EAT know. We will be only too happy to publicise your efforts.

Finally, some good news: in America, the realtor John Mike, who is the National Association of Realtor’s UK liaison officer, says the NAR chapter in Chicago is standing by, ready to help Sean and his family in any way that they can.
