Two members of staff at Clive Emson Auctioneers have been promoted to the board.
Ben Snelling and Sam Kinloch join five fellow directors at the expanding firm, which works with a network of 600 estate agency outlets and which has recorded sales of more than £1bn since being founded in 1989 by one of the auction world’s true characters, philanthropist Clive Emson – he genuinely does lots for charity.
Emson himself is a familiar figure on BBC’s Homes Under the Hammer series, while Snelling and Kinloch are both senior auction valuers.
The firm operates a series of four auctions over a one-week period eight times a year, across the south from Kent down to Cornwall.
Clive Emson’s latest round of sales in May saw £16m worth of lots sold, including two former fire stations in Kent, with a 75% success rate.
