Three estate agents are due to appear at crown court early in the New Year after being charged with fraud.

The charges were brought by the Office of Fair Trading which said they were in connection with an investigation into suspected fraud in property sales.

Thomas Francis Kelly, Samantha Jayne Kelly and Andrew Stephen Butts were committed by Sandwell Magistrates Court to appear at Wolverhamptom Crown Court for a pleas and case management hearing, currently listed for January 3.

Kelly, 32, and his wife Samantha, 30, are jointly charged with three offences under the Fraud Act 2006 in relation to abuse of the position of employment as an estate agent; and one charge of making a false instrument.

Thomas Kelly is also charged with a second count of making a false instrument.

Butts, 28, is charged with one offence under the Fraud Act 2006 in relation to abuse of the position of employment as an estate agent.

All three are on conditional bail.
