Here is the first (and possibly last) in EAT’s Countdown to Christmas – a gift idea for the estate agent who has everything.
It is a Monopoly board that, at last, reflects the real price of London property (and we all know that hasn’t got much to do with the price of a semi in Abergavenny, Bootle or Corby).
A snip at just £7,963, the board weighs 28lb and is made from leather and wood.
Players compete for London districts that have been updated with the addition of several noughts – Mayfair, for example, now costs £40m, not £400.
The traditional players’ pieces (dog, iron, top hat, etc) are replaced by super-yacht, private jet, Rolls Royce, tropical island and crown. All are hand-made in silver, while the houses are gold.
It’s a tough call. Splash out £8,000 on a stocking filler for the likes of Jon Hunt or Trevor Abrahamson, or one of the Sandbanks boys?
Or put the money towards a deposit for a real house?
EAT isn’t too sure if there will be any more in this Countdown to Christmas series, but if we get any more crackers, we’ll pass them on.
