Rightmove climbed into the top ten web domains in June alongside the BBC website, Google and Facebook.

The latest statistics were produced by web monitoring agencies including Comscore and counted UK page visits for the month.

Miles Shipside, commercial director of Rightmove, said: “To be amongst the top ten web domains in the UK is a notable achievement for us.

“Rightmove is synonymous with home-hunting but this underlines our position as one of the most popular overall consumer brands on the web.”

Despite concerns that the World Cup could bring a slowdown in search activity, Rightmove measured an 11% increase in pages viewed on its website compared with June of last year.

Shipside added: “In spite of the World Cup distraction, it’s a sign of growing pent-up demand that people continue to search for properties.”

    AceofSpades - well said!

agey agent - Why should he? If you have a good year - do you give back all your loyal and trusting vendors a proportion of their fees?

    I thought not...

One day, you lot will just pay your subs to Rightmove and enjoy the business it generates!

Why do you promote them for free? Because you wanted another logo on your header or the fact that it's a trusted brand to be associated with in the eyes of the public? Countless buyers purchase with Estate Agents that they would never even of known existed, thanks to Rightmove. Yes, agents have aided the growth of them, but most agents make it sound like they get nothing back, when in fact they get plenty. Nobody puts a gun to your head to use them :)

    Miles Shipside.
"...is a notable achievement for us..."
More like a noteable achievement by the agents who have been advertising RM for free since the start!
