A Rightmove Partners email sent to consumers to try and encourage them to attend a developer’s part-exchange event gave as a plus point: “You’ll be able to avoid estate agents altogether.”

The sales email was sent on behalf of David Wilson Homes, which is holding part-exchange evenings this month and next. It is headed ‘We could buy your home’.

The developer used the email to market schemes in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire.

Asked to comment, a Rightmove spokesman said: “Emails from Rightmove Partners are required not to use marketing messages with negative connotations towards fellow Rightmove advertisers or other parties.

“We do have procedures in place to check this and will review any complaints we receive about this case.”

Shame on EA today for running this as a headline story....bearing in mind ZOOPLA is one of your partners!!! Thought you'd stir it up again? I think the limited response here sums up Estate Agency feelings on this...ie not worthy of a response.
Perhaps you could run the story about how Zoopla only gave 29 days notice to agents when they merged DPG and ZOOPLA accounts when both contracts required 30 days to cancel...thus preventing agents from cancelling either subscription....VERY DISSAPOINTING "journalism

Rightmove partners also includes home buyers such as www.sellpropertyfastcash.co.uk where they will make you a cash offer on your home (generally at 20% below the asking price) and guarantee to purchase any property.

    This is a nothing story.

It's not as if they are saying, use Hatched to avoid estate agents!

It is simply promoting part exchange, which is quite fair. The seller of the house has to want to buy the new build first. And the house will come back to the estate agent in the end!

Geez, can't believe this was the top story of the day!
