Organisers of the ESTAs (Estate & Letting Agent Awards) have announced the shortlist for the category of Best RICS Agent. This award is given to a single office with the highest score across sales or lettings who is a member of the RICS.

The shortlisted agents are:

Beresford Adams, Llandudno; Bridgfords, Stafford; Corben & Son, Swanage; Dale Eddison, York; Jamie Dean & Co, Stanmore; Norgans, Hitchin; Palmer Snell, Wells; and Porter Glenny, Essex.

David Dalby, residential director at RICS, said: “This is the fifth year that RICS have been involved with the ESTAs, which we support because, unlike others, the results are based solely on customer satisfaction rather than the opinions of a judging panel.

“To win an ESTA, a firm has to demonstrate a consistently high level of service, and to achieve this, will be ensuring that staff follow those standards of efficiency, good communication and transparency that differentiate the exceptional agent from the ordinary one.”

Simon Brown, managing director of Awards For Business which runs the ESTAs, said: “In the sort of competitive market we are in, and likely to experience for the rest of the year, clients are being more selective than ever when appointing an agent. If agents can demonstrate their focus on high-quality customer service, it gives them an advantage in that selection process and at the same time helps them to hold, and in some cases increase, their fee levels”.

The top ten agents across 14 regions have been shortlisted and the winners will be announced on April 15 by Phil Spencer.

Brown said: “The timing of the awards is crucial. Spring is a key time and shortlisted agents will be in strong position to make the most of any upturn in the market.”
