The RICS has installed its new presidential team, with Michael Newey succeeding Alan Collett as president.
Louise Brooke-Smith becomes president elect, the first female incumbent of the position in the institution’s 145-year history. If she is elected next July she will be the first woman to become RICS president – but not the last.
Amanda Clack is this year newly appointed to the position of vice-president and could also become president in due course.
In addition, Martin Brühl becomes senior vice-president. Robert Mayhew and Chris Fossick will continue in their roles as vice-presidents.
Bill Gater continues as honorary treasurer and Rob Mahoney continues as honorary secretary.
Newey’s background is in social housing, while Brooke-Smith is a town planner.
