Porter Glenny's customers say - you're simply the best

The ESTAs 2010, presented yesterday at the Marriott Hotel in Mayfair, London, saw a mixture of repeat success and new stars as the industry honoured the best agents in the UK.

The awards, which are sponsored by Estate Agent Today, RICS, HomeLet and Rayner Recruitment, were presented by Phil Spencer at a lavish lunch and ceremony attended by 450 of the UK’s top estate and letting agents.

The agents were recognised for their excellent customer service, all as voted for by their clients during 2009.

 

Phil Spencer said: “I’ve seen many agencies over the seven years that I’ve been involved with these awards become more successful each time they come. They may start with a Top 10 regional ranking the first year, but the great thing about the ESTAs is that they are not about how well you write your submission, or how well you answer questions in a telephone interview, but about the things agents do every day.

“These awards help agencies to focus on customer service levels, and that’s why agencies keep coming back, and that’s why we see such raw emotion when the winners are announced.”

The results were determined by research carried out amongst customers who were asked a series of questions about the service they have received from their agent.

Over 19,000 votes were received, making the ESTAs the largest survey as well as the most meaningful award scheme in the industry. Spencer also pointed out that there were no categories for the likes of best marketing campaign or lifetime achievement in the industry – "These don't mean anything to the consumer, and these awards are purely about the consumer experience," he said.
