So this last week has been quite eventful with the amazing news of the merger between the Digital property group and Zoopla. So many are asking what this will mean for the portable industry. I think it's good news and we will see some interesting times ahead.

Of course the main question is what the new combined group will be called. The Dizzital Prooooperty Groupla springs to mind as it rolls off the tongue.

From the amount of comments on the newsflash story announcing the merger on Friday, it's clear that agents have a lot to think about over the coming days and weeks as to their property marketing. Although you have a bit of time as the merger is likely to take months to complete.

Earlier in the week saw us meet on the judging panel of the Property Awards for Women (sponsored by Zoopla) which is taking place on November 3 at the Innovative Property Show at Wembley. It should be a good day we understand there are quite a number of agents coming and lots of industry exhibitors.

Despite the Angels’ IT hardware bloke going missing this week, we managed to battle on and Wednesday saw an interesting meeting with Doug Munro of Adzuna. As reported in EAT Doug was formerly chief operating officer at Zoopla and has set up a jobs portal with property soon to follow.

On Thursday our friends over at The Property Investor Show kicked off another great event that was on for three days through to Saturday. Our team were there en-masse on the LandlordToday stand and I understand it was an excellent three days as usual.

On Friday last week, we had an interesting meeting with Peter Brodniki from Mortgage Advice Bureau to understand their plans for the future recruitment of new agents to provide financial services to, ahead of their forthcoming conference on November 10 in Derby which I've kindly been invited to.

And finally my condolences go to Wilf Lewis from Dezrez following that unfortunate game of rugby and the loss that Wales suffered. They were the better team, if that’s any consolation.
