Martin & Co is to expand in London and is looking for lettings managers who want to become their own bosses.

Deals on the table mean that a lack of cash would not stop the right candidates getting the chance to run their own business.

Martin & Co sales and marketing director Mark Burdge said: “We will bridge the gap between whatever cash they may have and bank finance that can be raised, with a direct injection of cash to enable them to start.”

The objective of the exercise  is to establish Martin & Co as the leading specialist letting agency in London – the UK’s most lucrative lettings market.

The group already has 175 offices throughout the UK, 20 of which are in Greater London.

Ian Wilson, Martin & Co’s managing director, said: “The fastest route to success in the London market is to work with existing lettings managers who have the contacts, local knowledge and ambition to open their own agency.

“The people we are looking for will live and breathe London lettings, and feel that their career working for other people has reached a peak, but they may lack the capital and know-how to start their own business.

“For the right people we will provide the support and the funding to make it happen.”

Martin & Co will be running a business partnership event called ‘60 minutes with Martin’ in central London on Wednesday, February 17, at 7 pm.

Letting managers who want to book a place can do so by email. All inquiries will be treated in strictest confidence. Email mark.burdge@martinco.com

In their blurb about the event, Ian (Victor Meldrew)Wilson writes that they are looking for "existing Lettings Managers who have the contacts ..."

If that is not an invitation for recruits to try and circumvent confidentiality clauses, I don't what is.

Hardly a moral start to a relationship - and they might find it comes back to bite them on the 4rse.

Let's hope Martin & Co teach these new agents how to handle client account money correctly

I wonder how Martin & Co would respond if their managers committed industrial sabotarge with their clients. Are they suggesting that the managers take details of lanlord clients from their existing business?
