Strutt & Parker has launched a fundraising initiative in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

The firm aims to raise £100,000 towards a new centre for neurosciences, in particular a dedicated patient interview room.

Property professionals as well as former Scotland rugby player Kenny Logan turned out to show their support at the launch of Strutt & Parker’s initiative.

The event featured a talk from Strutt & Parker deputy head of marketing and communications Norman Black, whose daughter was a patient at the hospital, on the incredible work that the charity does.

Norman is pictured at the launch of Strutt & Parker’s fundraising appeal.

Andy Martin, senior partner at Strutt & Parker, said: “We chose Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity because of the incredible work the hospital does to help children from all over the UK for the past 160 years, and it is a charity which is close to many of our hearts.”

EAT asked Norman Black about his own experiences of this quite amazing children’s hospital. We carry his reply as a blog today.

We can’t pretend it has anything to do with estate agency or property but it is very moving – and it puts everything into perspective.

Please read it.

Best of luck with this, S&P! In fact, no - not best of luck...

    J.F.D.I.!
(anyone needing an explanation of the above - check out urbandictionary.com)

I read this article AFTER reading Mr Black's 'blog' three stories above. The two should be linked/tagged far better than they are, EAT...

You have set yourself a mammoth target, Strutt & Parker - EAT needs to feature more details as to how you aim to reach and exceed it so that we in the industry can get behind you and add weight. The 'whens and wheres' need to be heavily publicised, in order that additional support can be offered.

Anyone wanting to read more can find the story where I found it on S&P's website in the 'Corporate News' section (sorry for the plug, Ros - but it's one H3ll of a cause...!).
