National lettings chain Martin & Co has launched a new brand, Martin & Co Student Homes.
It has also revamped its website, adding in a students section that allows students to search for accommodation by campus.
Managing director Ian Wilson said: “Student lettings are big business with nearly 1.5 million students requiring housing from the private rented sector each year, but the service on offer to landlords, students and their parents is often very poor.
“We already have offices close to many campus sites and we have a strong web presence, and in student lettings this online presence is even more important.”
He said the firm had worked with students to find out what they want from a lettings agent.

Gosh Ray, how do I survive without you running our ship?? Did I say we went out? No, I said they wanted us to come out. Only a fool doesn't read things properly!

Unless it is reported as dangerous to life or proerty, anyone who goes out to change (or arranges to have changed) a light bulb other than in normal hours is a fool!
Tighten up your tenancy agreements.
Oh how I miss my days within property management! Tenants views on maintenance is always: 'but it's urgent'!! Wait until they own their own home aye?!

We do have one professional scared of the type of light bulb she has, diachroic downlights, but our students couldn't change the bulb. The first call was to say the light was broken ... suggested they tried a new bulb then long silence ... 'we don't know how!' Ah, bless em all, least they don't trash the place.
@Anna
I think the last thing students would be doing at 10pm at night is worrying about a light bulb - fact!
I think you are more than likely to get a highly strung non student tenant demanding such unreasonable requests.
What students want? I can tell you ... they want the agent to come out at 10pm in the evening because none of them know how to change a light bulb - fact!
