The Land Registry is to cut its fees by an average of 10% after making annual efficiency savings of around £33m.

Information service fees will be cut by £1, scale fees will be cut by £10 and a register alteration will now be a fixed fee of £40. Information and registration fees for a property purchase will also fall.

The new fee structure will come into force on October 22.
