A new website launches today giving agents a demonstration of a new type of For Sale or To Let  sign.

Kremer Signs Smartboard carries the now-familiar QR code, but adds a lead generation facility.

By simply completing a short tick-box form on their mobile, the house hunter will also send the agent of the property the details of the interested client, giving their name, email address, telephone number, age and gender, thus supplying a lead generation to the agent in ‘real time’.

The agent will be able call or email the client within minutes to discuss the property in question or promote similar properties in the area they have for sale or to let.

So, for example, if the house hunter said they were interested in the property and that it was in the right area but the garden was too small, the agent would have the opportunity to discuss other properties nearby.

The technology has also allowed for future development of mobile phones, with a Near Field Communication chip built into the board which will allow potential purchasers to simply hold their phone up to the Smartboard and, without any downloaded software, the phone will automatically give the property information.

This is the same technology used in the new Contactless-enabled credit and debit cards which is expected to be introduced as mainstream marketing and payment technology in 2012.

Steve Gosney, Kremer Signs sales manager, said: “We have been looking at ways to truly give our agents a distinct advantage and feel that the Smartboard is yet another major step in us being able to offer our customer the very best possible service.”

Data capture through mobile phones is definitely on the increase. The NFC aspect of this signage is something that is very exciting. We are seeing QR codes being used in more adverts, and it would be interesting to see how many smartphones now come pre-loaded with QR code readers. Our customers use SMS data capture, and provide relevant information in an auto-reply message whilst the customer's contact number and date/time stamp is sent direct through to email at the same time, all in one action. It seems to me as though mobile data capture is on the increase, which can only be good for all those previously missed leads! Well done guys.

we have been using qr codes for 5 months and find them very good we are the only agent in our location with them and it is a great USP with the selling and buying public in agency one now has to move with the times and keep well up with the latest inovations.

The stats support that QR scans are becoming more mainstream and QR codes are being recognised by the general public.

Also, agents need to be different in this tough market to win instructions and gain stock, so maybe you dont need a scan? If you have the house on your books through being innovative forward thinking agent... just a thought :)

Finally, NFC will be more mainstream next year, with no need for the App, making life easier...

I love the idea - but I have never seen anyone scan a QR code apart from in the first 10 minutes after downloading their free scanner!

It would be good to hear how many scans are undertaken
