The estate agency market continued to thrive in the traditionally quieter month of August, our ‘man with the boards’ survey has said.

According to Agency Express, there were few signs of the usual dip.

For Sale boards converting to Sold rose 1.6% compared with July – making it the first August to record a rise in sales, and not a decline, since Agency Express began its records in 2007.

Although nationally there were fewer properties coming on to the market – a dip of 2.4% – in two regions supply increased. In the south-east new listings rose 2.5%, and in the south-west they rose by 0.6%.

Stephen Watson, managing director of Agency Express, said: “As the summer holidays come to an end and normal routines resume, I am optimistic that the upward trends we’ve been seeing will continue and the rest of the year will show robust growth.”

    I second that, Jonnie!

August sstc's in my wee branch increased 100% on 2012's performance (YOU BET I'm gonna take credit for that!!) - in fact they almost matched the sum of the previous 2 months!

Just goes to prove... just when you think you know all, you realise you really know nothing!

Have a good weekend, matey ;o)
