Average house prices stood at £169,624 during July, the Halifax has reported.
It says this is 4.6% above July last year, and 0.9% above June’s house prices.
It is the sixth successive monthly rise that Halifax has reported, and is in line with Nationwide’s price of £170,825 for July, which it says was a 0.8% rise on June’s figure.
