Free training has been launched by online training organisation The Academy, after agents cut back hard on training budgets during the recession.

The Academy has launched an upgraded website featuring recognised industry experts Peter Knight, Adam J Walker, Clare Fletcher and Richard Rawlings.

Lessons take the form of videos ranging from around five to 15 minutes in length. The first free sessions include how to improve customer service, increase customer loyalty, convince people to buy in a tough market, and harnessing the power of branding.

Peter Knight, The Academy Chairman, said: “There is no doubt that people need to be sharper than ever at the moment – not just to get through the difficult period, but also to make sure they come out ahead of the competition when things start to improve.

“Good training is vital for achieving this, but we understand that the money just isn’t there at the moment. That’s why we have partnered with the best brains in the industry and restructured our offering to allow free access to agents.

“There will always be an important place for more traditional training methods. At a time when budgets are particularly stretched, though, we hope that The Academy’s online service will serve as a useful tool. We aim to have something for owners, managers and frontline sales and lettings teams, with content updated on a weekly basis to ensure that we’re continually providing new and relevant material.”

I would've liked to check out the training myself (although after 15 successful years in the business, I think I'm OK with answering the phone now) but with no link and no relevant results from several searches on google, I can't find it! www.theacademy.co.uk looks lovely though.

How about training on industry requirements such as Estate Agency Act, Property Misdecriptions, Lettings and legals. That would be more value, than how to answer a telephone.
