The number of lots going to property auctions last month was 3,291 – 20% down on September 2008.
Of these, 2,334 sold – a success rate of 71%, which was up from a success rate of 67% in August.
There were 178 auctions in the UK.
Despite the fall in the number of properties going to auction, the overall amount raised was 11% down, suggesting higher prices being achieved.

At last peolple are seeing the Auction route for most property sale as a desparation measure when the price being cheap does not matter. Poor old Repo'd borrowers.
