Congratulations to the whole team at Douglas & Gordon, who collected over 18,500 items of food and 1,825 brand new toys to fill Christmas hampers for London’s vulnerable children.

In addition, almost £8,500 in cash was collected after staff from the firm’s 17 offices took to the streets across London on a snowy December 1, on a ‘foraging’ mission in aid of the children’s charity, Kids Company.

The items, ranging from cans of baked beans to boxes of chocolates, were packed into thousands of individual hampers by 30 Douglas & Gordon staff, ready to be handed out at Christmas to the 14,000 children that are looked after by Kids Company.

Ivor Dickinson, managing director of Douglas & Gordon, said: “There havebeen many highlights in my 24 years at Douglas & Gordon, but none comes close to the Douglas & Gordon / Kids Company Charity day. Never have I been so proud of this company, as each and every person worked their socks off from dawn to dusk.”

Camila Batmanghelidjh, founder of Kids Company, who is pictured with Dickinson, said: “I am over the moon to witness such extraordinary kindness from the general public and such genius from Douglas and Gordon – wow!”

We think even Wayne Rooney would be more than impressed – see today's story.
