Police investigating what is alleged to be the UK’s biggest ever mortgage and money-laundering fraud have made further arrests.

The latest seven to be detained are six men and one woman arrested in raids in the north.

Investigations are said to include estate agents David Oliver Residential, a former estate agent in Darlington, plus finance firms and a sale and rent back company.

According to The Northern Echo, Craig David Purdie and Andrew Oliver Bellwood, partners of David Oliver Residential, were among those arrested.

It is understood that family members, Purdie’s stepmother and father, Grace and David Purdie, of Darras Hall, Northumberland, are among other arrests.

It is thought that around five test cases will go to trial.

Yesterday, the David Oliver estate agency site appeared to have been taken down.
