Here’s EAT’s gong for amazing customer service – and it goes to Brewer & Brewer in Dorset.

When their sellers, a family of five, got stuck in Florida because of the volcano ash, the firm sprang into action.

Nigel and Sara Bedford were marooned with their three children, but the move had to go ahead because their buyers were leaving their rented flat.

Agency boss Keith Brewer and colleague Rachel Brown sorted out contracts, hired a removals van, helped an army of neighbours to do the packing up and even cleaned the property.

When the Bedfords finally arrived back, it was – quite literally – to a different home.

Brewer & Brewer was founded in 1955 and remains in the same family ownership. The firm is a member of Wessex Team and Keith Brewer is its company secretary.

He said: “It took a lot of calls and liaising, but we made it happen. It was nice to be able to help people stranded 3,000 miles away.”

We think they are exactly the kind of agent that does the industry proud. Well done – and we hope they enjoy the ‘thank you’ bash being arranged by the grateful Bedfords.

I agree wholeheartedly with Tim M and his comments.
But the thought did cross my mind - what if something had gone wrong -
    H&SE and the insurance companies?
    Party Pooper aren't I!
    (not really)

Going beyond the call of duty, which I am sure will be both noticed and remembered by local vendors.
Excellent service, excellent pr, excellent marketing.
