Congratulations to agents Elwell Taylor in Chelmsford, Essex.

The firm beat off county-wide competition to win the award for ‘Growing Business of the Year’ at the 2012 awards of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.

Elwell Taylor was commended for its ‘professionalism and enthusiasm’ after being nominated for the award by chartered accountants Lucentum whose managing director Melinda Atkinson commented: “These are people excited about delivering exceptional services that they know are valuable and worthwhile, and their professionalism and enthusiasm shines through.”

Elwell Taylor’s co-founder Nick Taylor also won the ‘Highly Commended’ award in the Business Person of the Year category.

Elwell Taylor was started from one room in Duke Street, Chelmsford, by Nick Taylor and Adam Elwell. It expanded and moved to bigger premises after two years.

In 2010 the company moved to its current offices in New London Road, Chelmsford, and has continued to expand.

The business has grown to include a thriving private and commercial agency, lettings management, building surveying and project management. Elwell Taylor also holds a monthly business professionals lunch for the local business community.

An Institute of Chartered Accountants award... Clearly not a good indication of the Estate Agency market in general as there are lots more agents in the same area who have grown faster than Elwell Taylor. Just another case of paying to enter so not a sample of all local agents, and with not much competition, almost any Tom, Dick or Harry can win it !
