Estate agents based in the East of England provide the best level of customer service in the UK, according to data from the ESTAs (Estate & Letting Agent Awards).

The statistics are based on the feedback from buyers, sellers and landlords who completed a questionnaire rating the service they received from their agent. Over 19,000 clients voted in this year’s competition.

Based on the average score received by agents in each area, the top five regions are:

1  East of England
2  South-West
3  Southern
4  Scotland
5  South-East

“We know there is intense rivalry between agents in each region, but agents in the East of England should collectively be very proud of these figures,” said Simon Brown, owner of the ESTAS.

The figures for lettings also make interesting reading, with theNorth-East coming top. The top five regions are:

1  North-East
2  West Midlands
3  Scotland
4  South-West
5  South-East

“The fact that these ranking are based on feedback from people who have experienced each agent’s services makes them very interesting reading,” said Brown.

“The Client Feedback Reports we send to every agent that signs up for the ESTAs provides a detailed breakdown of how the agency has performed throughout the buying, selling or lettings process.

“Agencies can see how they rank in their region and nationally, and can quickly identify areas where they can improve their services, and that can only good for business.”

The battle to find out who the best agents are for 2011 is hotting up, with 250 agents having already registered and hundreds of clients a week voting.

“We already have 6,000 votes and we expect the final number to exceed 25,000 by the time voting closes on February 1,” said Brown.

The top ten agents in each region will be shortlisted in February and the winners will be announced in April. As usual, EAT will be the first to give you the results.

The ESTAS are sponsored by EAT in association with HomeLet, Rayner Recruitment & RICS. Agents can sign up for the 2011 competition now at www.theestas.com
