Sotheby’s International Realty, the up-market central sales London office acquired by Countrywide earlier this year, is to launch a lettings business.

It has hired prime central London specialist Nicole Bisson to launch it. She comes from Henry & James and before that, helped set up Foxtons Intentional.

Although Sotheby’s International Realty currently consists of just one office in the UK, Countrywide has plans to expand the brand as part of its 25-year agreement.

It is part of a network of over 500 offices in 40 countries around the world and has connections with the Sotheby’s auction house.

Charles Smith, UK managing director of Sotheby’s International Realty, said the launch of the lettings service was an important step in the business’s development.

Bisson said: “International tenants still account for the majority of transactions in prime central London. We are a local office with a global reach and we will be leveraging off a brand renowned throughout the world in offering a first-class service to both landlords and tenants.”
