Chesterton Humberts has opened an office in Cape Town, South Africa.

The firm has appointed Andrew Smith as managing director. The appointment is in line with the company’s expansion into a number of new markets including Russia. The operation will assume the company’s international brand, Chesterton.

Robert Bartlett, chief executive of Chesterton Humberts, said: “South Africa remains a popular destination for wealthy and retiring second-home owners, and an increase in corporate relocation activity in recent months makes this an exciting time to enter the country and strengthen our position outside of Europe, particularly when the country’s appeal will be evident to the millions watching the football World Cup.”
