movewithus has rebranded – to Move with Us. Hurrah!

The firm describes the switch as making it more consumer-orientated.

We have a feeling that Connells said much the same thing when, in a major public relations exercise, they rebranded to Connell and then, extremely quietly and hoping no one would notice, stuck the ‘s’ back on a year later.

We’re also reminded of the TEAM rebrand which necessitated all the cost that blue sky thinking involves, to change to the extraordinarily irritating ‘team’. Why didn’t they just settle for Team?

However, we rather like Move with Us’s latest, er, move.

Here at EAT, we welcome getting rid of those ungrammatical lower-case irritations that mess with our somewhat pedantic sub-editor’s house style. Hard not to sympathise, though: lower-case letters that are meant to be big grown-up capital letters always look wrong at the start of sentences. And, come to think of it, in the middle of sentences too. And at the end.

Is it too much to hope that all those websites and businesses that have hung on to their annoying lower-case letters, even though they recall an era when the internet was still young and trendy, could follow this ground-breaking initiative?

We would also like to declare war on the use of 2, 4 and u.

These are usually used by dull conveyancing firms which think they are trendy just because they now call themselves things like lawyers4u and homesales2u. Okay, I’ve just made those up, but for all I know they exist.

Anyway, the real culprits know who they are. Time4change?

They charge far too much, if you have a website from them and use their rip off coveyancing they will give you every repo in the area, does not matter how good you are as an agent as long as they get their money and you bow down to them. looking after ex-borrowers, I think not. More money for Move With Us more like! Wait till it all starts to go to court. They will come unstuck then.

Richard and Emma: How the Hell can you expect to accuse Jonnie of hiding behind a pseudonym, when all you post under is... well... a pseudonym?

If it wasn't so ridiculous, it would be funny...

Julie: Your offering - "Jonnie, you really are an offensive little man – your comments below are nothing but abusive and sexist..." Sorry - but isn't that abusive and sexist?

Can't believe the mentality of some on here at the minute...

PLEASE - don't be Estate Agents. They get enough bad press as it is without having intellectuals like you three working amongst them...

And NO! - I'm not one myself, before you have a go... ;0)

Jonnie, you really are an offensive little man – your comments below are nothing but abusive and sexist, the terminology you have used to describe Richard and Emma just demonstrates the lack of intelligence you have

My goodness, that was quick, Mr pseudonym. And a nice bit of sexism to boot. You've illustrated my point to perfection.

Wardy – Keep it to your self but Ive found our first punter, some angry little fella called Richard, he’s obviously never had any experience of dealing with an outfit like our new enterprise so we can mug him off for a grand a year for each office, chuck the £500.00 extra on his clients legal fees and promise him loads of re sales but just give him some scraps at under 1% ……….ill keep you posted.

Oh, hang on forget to mention he’s got a mate, some uptight little chick, Emma or something, she might go for it, she often just follows Richard

I agree, Richard. On other forums, there's usually a button you can select that blanks out posts from people whose comments are superfluous. We could do with one of these buttons.

Why is it always the same ignorant posters that post childish comments hiding behind childish names , every time a successful business is mentioned on this site? I would suggest they have never achieved anything in their sad little lives or equally likely are “Competitors” getting stuffed as they are rubbish. Check out any reference to the likes of Rightmove, LSL Connells etc same silly little folk post trying to be clever, failures!

Jonnie - how very dare you! Allow me to be the first to admonish you with regard to the above cutting (110% TRUE - but cutting nevertheless...) comment.

Consider yourself reprimanded. There - now all the Grippers don't have to bother as I've done it for them...

PS - in the meantime, keep up the good work, Jonnie boy ;0)

a quick note to an otherwise brilliant plan. The real money is at screwing up the part ex then charging the agent 30% of his commision for claiming to be the introducer for a property he would of got on anyway.
Now thats thinking outside the box.

What level of fees do they charge on a monthly basis to receive these instructions ?

Or have they invented a new concept known as b2bc?

What they could do is sit between an agent and the solicitor they have known for yonks and add a layer comprising increased price for the customer and an un helpful / rude call centre..........this could be based in a massive HQ in Cambridge, I think im on to something here, anyone want to invest? - oh, I forgot, this new thing could also promise loads of PX's and repos to agents that pay a monthly fee then just give them the odd multi agency at under 1% and have no influence with the institution that has instructed them.

I believe I am a genius, this will definitely work

This is exciting stuff and certainly the most unique thing they have done. their agent membership will surly feel the benefit. Now is the model b2b or b2c ?

Now this is exciting for the market, if movewithus can spend the time and resource on jiggling about with their name for no apparent reason then they must have a few quid, when the likes of them are making money again (even if they spend it on daft vanity projects) then I think we can consider the market back on track – providing of course its not as a result of some being the scenes accounting / ring fencing assests in preparation to do what I believe is now called an ‘Ashley King’ and letting the old / in debt / useless bit go down the swaney
