Auction House has expanded north of the border into Scotland via a partnership with Ross Harper Property Auctions who will cover the whole of the country from their Glasgow auction room.

The news comes as residential auctions in the UK dropped 12.5% in lots offered at sale.

Auction House founding director Roger Lake was, however, upbeat about his latest deal.

He said: “This is another significant expansion for us, as it’s not every day that you get to add an entire country to your network. Ross Harper already has a proven auctions business and we have collaborated very successfully in the past.

“Trading as Auction House Ross Harper, we aim to service a full spectrum of vendors and property types, selling corporate, distressed, institutional, private, investment and commercial lots to our extensive database of local, regional and national buyers.”

Ross Harper said: “We’re delighted to be the Scottish arm of the UK’s leading auction brand. This move will benefit people selling their property in Scotland, since it opens up a huge audience of potential buyers from England and Wales.”

Last month, Auction House held 14 auctions, selling 189 lots at an 81% success rate, raising over £19m. Last week it sold its 1,000th lot this year,

Lake added: “We’re seeing more repossessions and receivership lots being channelled through regional auction rooms to achieve best prices from a local audience. Plus there’s been a noticeable increase in demand for tenanted residential lots with more locally-based investors now competing for these and other properties with rental potential.”
