Agents have been voicing their anger over  NFoPP’s hike in client money protection costs for its members.

Some strong views were posted up by members of the NAEA and ARLA when we ran the story on our sister site yesterday, with a number of serious criticisms levelled at NFoPP.

If you didn’t read our coverage in EAT’s sister publication for letting agents, then you can visit Letting Agent Today. There will be further news on this story in LAT tomorrow.

LAT comes out on Tuesday and Thursday mornings every week, and contains news that affects anyone involved in lettings.

Why has ARLA respect and the NAEA none?

Could it be proper entrance exams, not Name, DofB, breathe, or you are so old just paying your subs will do, here have some initials to use to con the public your are qualified perhaps?

ARLA should have distanced itself from such a set

    Trevor,

I have agreed with most of your comments in the past, but not entirely this one!

ARLA members are, on the whole, proud of their speciallist membership and service, as I am sure are NAEA members.
However, in my view even when both are offered under the same roof, they are entirely different.

Great confusion is being caused, for both members and the public, by the 'blurring' of the differences between the specialist divisions - NAEA and ARLA which has occurred since the inception of NFoPP. Either keep them separate (which Ithink they should be because of the culture and the skills, qualifications, experience, required). If not, somehow fully integrate them properly.

Sorry to read that EstateAgentToday want us to log-on to their new 'sister publication' LettingAgentToday to read a 'letting' story - why do we have to bother to do this? EAT is the mouthpiece for ESTATE AGENTS, most of whom do lettings too. To fail to advise EAT readers of important lettings info is about as short-sighted as NFoPP telling the public only to use ARLA members to carry out lettings when they know thousands of their NAEA members do lettings too and are thus being lobbied against by their own Association. Big T.
