The body that represents all the leading names in the Leeds property market has a new president.

Paul Lehan, pictured, has taken over the reins at the Leeds Estate Agents’, Surveyors’ & Valuers’ Association as the group enters its 122nd year.

Lehan, 39, is a director of one of Leeds’ longest-established estate agencies, Castlehill, where he has worked on both the company’s sales and lettings operations for the past 15 years.

He has a Certificate in Residential Estate Agency and was awarded Fellowship of the NAEA in 2002.

He said: “One of my aims is to build on the strong membership we already have and recruit more companies to the association, strengthening the voice and influence we have in the sector.

“I look forward to playing a role in taking such a historic association into a new era of success.”

ANY organisation that actually represents and actively promotes Estate Agency within the the community is commendable.

Their website, however, is abysmal. I trust Mr Lehan will be using his new position to address issues such as this, in order that the community actually see an organisation who actively value, and display, professionalism.

Good for him, well done that chap. These groups are the way forward for agents. Shame there are not more and have declined over the years. Too much bitching between new agents these days, being cut throat and wanting everything for themselves. Onset by corporates in early 1990's and multi branch agents since then ..... targets, targets, targets. I used to enjoy the Wednesday lunch ...... the good olde days.

Good for him - most of these types of organisations have wilted over the years

If he can retain participation, and keep numbers up that will be an achievement in itself
