Estate agents and industry suppliers taking part in this autumn’s Great British Property Cycle have raised £26,000 for charity.

The event was organised by the Estate Agency Foundation and involved cycle rides totalling 3,000 miles.

Participants included Andrews, Davis Tate, Lauriston, LSL, Maitlands, Stags, Town & Country, Lenwell Property Services, Webbers and Your Move, joined by industry suppliers including Jupix and Ravensworth.

The money will be distributed to homeless charities and means that, on top of last year’s inaugural event which raised £70,000, nearly £100,000 has so far been raised by the industry’s pedal power.

Bill McClintock, chairman at the Estate Agency Foundation, said: “It was uplifting to see estate agents out in force raising money for a major issue faced by all communities in the UK – homelessness.

“We hope to get even more people involved next year and establish the event as the key fundraiser in our calendar. These results are the perfect basis on which to start instigating key changes to the Estate Agency Foundation which will come to fruition next year – watch this space.”

The next major Estate Agency Foundation event is The Great British Property Christmas Cake Bake which entails baking festive treats to be sold in the office to both staff and clients during a number of coffee mornings throughout December.
