We really wish we could – but we can’t. Mention all the fantastic charitable efforts and achievements of estate agents up and down the country, that is.

However, we love hearing about them all and today would like to mention just two.

Douglas & Gordon has once again held its annual charity day in aid of the children’s charity Kids Company.

Staff from all 19 offices took to the streets of London to collect donations in the form of gifts, food and money. They collected goods weighing an incredible 6.5 tons, filling over 350 removal boxes.

The items, ranging from packets of pasta to luxury boxes of chocolates, were packed into thousands of individual hampers by Douglas & Gordon staff, ready to be handed out at Christmas to the 17,000 children that are looked after by Kids Company.

As well as food and 750 toys, Douglas & Gordon collected over £10,000 from generous donors within their territory.

Ivor Dickinson, managing director, said: “I have never been so proud of each and every member of staff who worked from dusk to dawn to help collect as many items as possible.”

Pictured are staff out and about, and knocking on doors.

The other picture is of West Country staff of Wood’s, all looking lovely in their glad rags at the seventh annual charity ball they have organised.

This year’s bash raised £6,000 for local charities, bringing Wood’s donations over the years to £56,000.

Particular congratulations to Sarah Thomas of Wood’s Newton Abbott branch, who is joint organiser – and already hard at work planning next year’s event.
