North-West agent Farrell Heyworth has released three new marketing tools – Sat Nav directions to all of its properties, the use of a mobile exploiting Augmented Reality technology to search for other nearby properties, plus QR codes.

The last, says the agent, is a first in the region, whilst the Sat Nav feature utilises a mobile phone.

Property searchers can use a mobile to find Farrell Heyworth properties – even when they have not visited a branch or received particulars which include directions. The phone itself then acts as a Sat Nav to direct them to the property.

Once the user has the directions, they just attach their mobile to the top of the dashboard, with the camera facing the road.

The app uses the video captured through the camera and overlays the driving instructions. Because the road is shown on the phone, it means the driver never has to take their eyes off the road to look at a map, meaning there are safety implications.

Farrell Heyworth believe they are the first agent in the world to use the technology.

To get the free app, users download ‘wikitude’ from the Android Marketplace, and add the Farrell Heyworth World.

John Shellcross, agency director, said: “This has become the hand-held generation, and these products are targeted at the hand-held generation.”

Ace, you just don't get me do you !

My dig is not at Farrell & Heyworth. The opposite. Its at the rest of agency.

    That's twice now . . . . I'm beginning to get a complex.

Great idea - I can remember going to look at houses to buy in a new area and having all sorts of 'discussions' with Mrs Ace.

Hopefully they can take all the credit and attention with the 'first agent' statement as sooner or later everyone will (or at least should) be offering this.

Tim M - An innovatie service is launced and still all you can post is a 'moan' or 'dig'.

Typical, an agent launches something innovative . . . zero comments.

An age old chestnut about RM fees or HPC and a frenzy of comments.

    Hmmmm !
