The property industry has given £292,000 to the Conservative Party so far this year with UKIP receiving £65,000, according to research undertaken by Estates Gazette.

Figures from the Electoral Commission show that most of the donations come from house builders. Major Conservative donors are Countrywide Developments and commercial builders Westfield and Broadland Properties - between them they have given £175,000 to the Tories.

UKIP's political donation comes entirely from the residential and commercial developer Mura Estates. This makes property the single largest sector donating to Nigel Farage's party.

Labour's biggest property donor this year so far is the former Minerva boss Andrew Rosenfeld, who has given Ed Miliband's party £100,000.

The Liberal Democrats have received only £12,000 from property this year - the main donors are Henley Homes and Tucan Investments.

EG's analysis is for donations between January 1 and June 13.
