Another Purplebricks refugee moves over to Keller Williams

The former director of customer experience at Purplebricks has been announced as a new partner in a Keller Williams franchise.

Sarah Downes, who was also a territory owner at Purplebricks, has been named as a partner in the KW Phoenix market centre covering Coventry and Warwickshire, alongside her husband, JP Downes.

“Having worked for a number of years at Purplebricks … we were both looking for an opportunity that would enable us to build a business that really worked for both agents and customers. Our priorities are our customers and our team of agents and we have joined Keller Williams to build a family business based on developing and sustaining these relationships” she says.

The KW UK model is one of the growing number of self-employment schemes in the agency industry.

It involves hubs, also known as market centres, where an operating principal is supported by a team leader and an administrator. Self-employed agents then use the hub as a central resource.

Agents retain 63 per cent of their commission at first with the rest funding the overheads and support services.

Once their overall income passes a specific threshold, agents retain 90 per cent of their commission fees with the remainder going to Keller Williams.
