The founder of OneMove, the firm that promised to pay subscribing agents’ weekly advertising costs to the tune of £50 million, appears to be flourishing in Canada.

Surrey-based OneMove took down its ‘television’ service and ‘parked’ its website earlier this summer, while phone callers are still being told the UK telephone number is temporarily unavailable. It is understood that the company has left unpaid debts in this country.

But now a blog has appeared online, called lifeaafteronemove, and is posted online by none other than founder Neil Patel. In it, he talks about days by the pool, playing golf, eating in the finest restaurant in Winnipeg, setting up new companies and “plotting my next millions”. He also talks about becoming a licensed realtor.

In his blog, Patel says he has had a ‘good start’ in his new life in Winipeg, Canada.

Choice excerpts (reproduced as they appear) include: “Well life after OneMove what a few years of a fantastic journey again met the good, bad and ugly. How much did i learn? that will only be seen when I launch the next business. The ideas are flowing and I have a new office thanks to my great father in law Adrian.

“A fancy glass desk and next week a new company will be formed which will create 5 new websites in different sectors with a social networking aspect to it. A flight to India to set up a team to develop my ideas and slowly start bringing some trusted previous friends into the fold if they want more pain that is no FUN! and make some MONEY!

“Got to tell you i am taking my realtor license exams oh my GOD! Back to school might even try an MBA next.”

Patel also ponders the possibility of writing a book on how to start a company for under £1,000.

One of his latest enterprises is called Property News Today, which features a video made in March on the credit crunch by OneMove television. Patel says the site has the potential to become the Facebook of property.

He goes on: “Keeping motivated is hard but i keep reminding myself that this is how i started last time and it quickly became a big team with a big company syndrome. This time a small team of exceptional talent on a low budget and make profit first … The plan is low low budget but high reward and test test test is my mantra."

The last post sounds like something Neil would post himself. The great thing about Winnipeg is it is small and we in the business community talk. Your reputation will get out there Neil as it already is. You are a liar, con man and a bully. Who will not go far here.

OneMove was never a scam, www.onemovetech.com/. The investment was into a public company. Neil returned his shares www.cnw.ca/en/releases/archive/February2008/13/c9561.html?view=print and took on huge debts in the process, this actually saved the business in Canada. Not the actions of a scam.

Reply to post by: greg oh greg

    Hi Neil!

I'm pleased you couldn't challenge me on anything I said about you. Is that because my opinion is shared by the majority of people you meet?

    RUMORS ABOUT ME:

I was sacked from OneMove - the only time I've been sacked. So what? Your reason - Facebook. Ha ha! I was already looking for another job!

If you listened to my ideas for OneMove, the company would have made it's own money, not the figures you made up to con others out of their money.

This "very young girl" I met and fell in love with worked at OneMove. The same girl that laughed in your face when you flirted with her. By the way, we still live together, I'm 28 and she's 20. Does that make me a bad person in your eyes??

What did I sell Neil? Is it the same thing you buy and use? They say it makes you paranoid... YOU are the fool who lives the "high" life.

    RUMORS ABOUT YOU?

You try to embarass me with your rumors about me. I CHALLENGE YOU! I am happy to confirm or deny any rumor about me - are you man enough to do the same???

    Q. Is it true you've been to prison for trying to blackmail a supermarket with a suspect package?

    Q. Is it true that you frequently use Class A drugs because you can't handle your drink?

    Q. Is it true that you have repeatedly cheated on your wife and the mother of your children?

I know the answers but I'm looking forward to your replies.

Neil is a liar and and a crook. Do not trust him, he lives in his own imaginary make believe world. He actually said to me once that "I'm probably the largest company you supply", he was bosting thinking he was Richard Branson trying to make me feel small, guess what Neil I'm still in business and I don't owe anybody any money, you are so sad!

If it wasn't for the dozy plonker that worked as organisational head , there could have been a better chance of the company making a success or at least still be here today ,not saying everything else was right but when figures submitted are just plain cooked up you dont stand a chance !!! who really is to blame ?

I was another employee... Neil lied so much he didnt knoe what was reality in the end! He had his wife on payroll, was so dumb it was laughable (so much for the MBA!! LOL) He loved himself...but he shouldnt have. Had a look at the new 'site' NICE. Have to say there was a lot of us who have a drink the day we found out he FAILED.

Certainly do believe he needs to get in touch with reality. He took my life savings under false pretences. I dont hate the guy - I just feel sorry for him. Life is the great equaliser! What comes around goes around!

We've all suffered as a result of OneMove's demise, some more than other yes but I think we need to move on now, and not let ourselves be drawn into open conflict. Businesses fail all the time for numerous reasons and this one is really no exception from them in reality. No matter who was at the helm, OneMove wouldn't of survived in the current market, it just didn't have enough captial to survive.

Is this the greg that if rumors are correct got sacked at OneMove after falling in love with a very young girl. Is this the greg who thought he was a good agent in chiswick.oh and the greg who sells cxxxxxx.

This man has an absolute nerve. I am sure I speak on behalf of many many francisees and business people he has worked with. He is a liar, a scammer and should face his problems he has caused and money he has cost people in the UK. If what comes around goes around then this man has what's coming to him. To all canadians - BEWARE.

neil patel should come with a health warning i agree totally with the others comments posted. He lives in a dream world at everyone else's expense.. There is a queue of his ex business associates in the UK that would love to track this leach down and regain thousands of pounds he has wasted and taken under false pretences..Also interesting that he doesn't mention his prison record for blackmail, maybe he will when he writes his intended best seller..

He has not achieved anything in his life apart from setting up an estate agency (2 offices in the same town) and making some money while the housing market was booming in the UK. He declared bankruptcy on Maddsions and then moved into form OneMove UK with the help of OneMove Tech Plc in Canada. OneMove Tech invested heavily setting up the UK branch and neil patel excegerated the sales figures etc and only to realise that the operation never going to live up to his promises and decided full the flug off in early 2008. For his personal ego he decided to run the UK operation with a lot of promises. He played with borrowed money from the bank etc. he even got one of the OneMove employee to invest in the company (£50K for 2 % of the company). This poor lad invested in after looking at Neil’s exaggerated sales figures, only after 2 weeks of joining the company as marketing director.

As a former employee of Neil Patel and OneMove, I can testify to his vision, his achievements and his work ethic.

He sees himself as a global player, a CEO of the highest calibre, positioning himself amongst the ranks of Bill Gates, Sir Richard Branson, Sir Alan Sugar, etc. He is frustrated because this vision is not shared by those outside his household.

His achievements are legion, from his perspective. Whilst having started companies with great potential, none of these businesses have delivered, leaving a trail of broken promises and and burnt fingers.

In my opinion, he is a chancer of the highest order and should not be trusted.
