The win is a triumph for Peter Rollings, who bought the firm after his exit from Foxtons, the firm which he steered to huge success but where he was reportedly denied a share in the equity. Marsh & Parsons, when he acquired it, was a trusted but somewhat dated brand which he has transformed into a premier agency business.
The awards, held in London, were hosted by a superb Jamie Cracknell. Also on form was Sean Newman who won the award for outstanding contribution to estate agency. The legendary Newman leaves the UK today to launch the Fine & Country brand in the US – where, in only July of this year, he was almost killed as he took part in a charity cycle ride across America. By an extraordinary coincidence, Cracknell had a very similar accident days later.
Because of the snow, a number of attendees could not make it but the EAE LIVE 10 event last Friday was nevertheless hugely successful. Run by Peter Knight's Estate Agency Events, and directed by Sophie Williams, the day also included two seminar programmes.
