A mother and daughter are at legal loggerheads, suing each other for six-figure sums.

Nicola Low, 71, is being sued by Caroline Baines, 40, for £150,000. Baines claims her mother reduced her salary while she was on maternity leave. Low is also accused of harassing her daughter and making malicious complaints about her to police.

In a counter-claim, Low is suing her daughter for £100,000 for setting up a new agency and allegedly stealing clients.

The pair initially worked together to run the Halcyon House agency until they began quarrelling in 2010.

Baines had expected her normal four-figure monthly wage but was told she would receive only statutory maternity pay, in line with other staff.

The High Court in London has heard that after initially wanting to hand her business over to her daughter, Low wanted her out of the equation and began looking for problems.

She allegedly criticised her daughter's work just two weeks after she had emergency caesarean surgery. Baines then allegedly went on to set up a rival estate agency in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.

Low is claiming up to £100,000 from her daughter, alleging breach of contract and failure in her duty as a Halcyon House director.

The case continues.

Let's be serious, they need to grow up. It's like the estate agency version of Jeremy Kyle!
