Medway and North Kent estate agent Robinson Michael & Jackson is using pedal power to raise money for two good causes.

On Sunday 6 July 2014 a team of keen cyclists made up of sales and lettings staff will set off from the Sittingbourne office heading for the Gravesend branch and stopping off at every one of its offices along the way.

Leading the team will be Robinson Michael & Jackson's Michael Utchanah, senior partner, and Simon Woodcock, managing director.

The charities - the Dolphin children's ward at the Medway Hospital and Cancer Research - have been chosen due to the team's personal connections to the organisations.

Michael Utchanah says: "Sadly, more than one of us has relied on the invaluable services and support provided by these two wonderful institutions. As members of the local Medway community we are only too happy to give something back. As estate agents we may have been told to get 'on your bike' on more than one occasion but we don't take ourselves too seriously. So we have decided to take the advice literally, raising invaluable funds along the way. As well as advance sponsorship, we'll be looking for donations during the event. We're asking people to give generously when they see us brandishing our coin buckets on Sunday 6 July."

The cycle team will be wearing specially-designed t-shirts for the ride, which is the culmination of a drawing competition currently being run by Robinson Michael & Jackson in Medway schools, in the local community and in the Dolphin ward itself. All children with a passion for art are being asked to submit their t-shirt design to their local Robinson Michael & Jackson office by 23 May. The best designs will be printed on to a number of t-shirts, with the winners getting a souvenir t-shirt to keep, as well as an appearance in the local newspaper on the day.

In addition and to get the fundraising efforts off to a great start, Robinson Michael & Jackson will also be making a financial contribution for every instruction it takes on during the months of May and June 2014.

Simon Woodcock said: "The property market in North Kent and the Medway is nothing short of brisk, so we're hoping our instruction initiative will raise a fair amount for our chosen charities. So if you're thinking of selling your home this spring, please choose Robinson Michael & Jackson and help swell our coffers at the same time."

Donations can be made using the Robinson Michael & Jackson JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/teams/RMJ, or by texting 70070 stating how much you want to donate, with the reference RMJD50 for the Dolphin Ward, or RMJC50 for Cancer Research.
