Hybrid estate agency Purplebricks is launching a series of targeted TV advertisements across a range of channels that will deliver customised ads to viewers based on their postcode areas.

The promotion will be via Sky Media's new AdSmart platform. Through it, Purplebricks will deliver adverts to Sky homes by postcode area, beginning with Brighton, Guildford and Swindon.

Purplebricks recently launched in the West, South West, East Anglia and Welsh TV regions following a pilot in the Meridian region and then Central England.

The agency, which is still only 10 months old, recently appointed Joby Russel as director of online agency' - a job he holds alongside his role as marketing director at Confused.com.

Purplebricks recently hit the headlines when it was named as a firm listed in a new portfolio being launched on the stock market by star fund manager Neil Woodford, who says it may be capable of achieving annual returns of 10 per cent plus.

I see from the adverts that they offer a "Free Valuation" does this mean that all of their reps are RICS, I was always told a valuation was done by a surveyor, if I got this wrong then sorry, but wouldn't mind a "Free Valuation" if that's the case by a RICS surveyor. Just a question.

It pains me to say it but I think the online agents need to take a leaf out of PB's book when it comes to marketing.

I have no idea when it comes to service, but have heard a few stories of failure.
