Franchise giant Hunters - whose founder and managing director is likely to become a Tory MP in May - is launching its first national TV advertisement on January 20.

The ad, one of the first to be aired from an independently-owned estate agent, will be on More4 and 4OD.

Hunters now has 127 branches across the country and claims it will open new offices in Oldham, Dewsbury, Amersham, Chesham, Leighton Buzzard and Forest Hill during the first quarter of this year with the ambitious target of a further 50 openings to follow throughout the rest of 2015 in locations including Hackney, Dartford, Twickenham, Edgware and the Wirral.

Kevin Hollinrake, managing director and founder, has been selectted as a prospective parliamentary candidate for the Conservatives in what is regarded as a safe Tory seat.

Part of Hunters' expansion in 2014 included Lincolnshire's leading estate agency, Turner Evans Stevens; the group now stretches from North Shields in the north east of England to Dawlish in the south west.

Hunters has for some time been pledging to have over 500 offices "in five years' time."

Meanwhile north of the border, the Edinburgh Solicitors' Property Centre is today launching its latest marketing campaign, including adverts for the next 12 weeks on STV, sponsorship of a programme on Radio Forth and advertising on another commercial radio station, Kingdom FM.
