A delegation of US realtors' representatives has met with former NAEA president Jan Hytch to explore "reciprocal business opportunities" for estate agents from the two countries.

The visit from representatives of the National Association of Realtors to the UK is part of a trade visit and has included a trip to Hytch's local area of Norwich - it is a tradition to visit the home town of the immediate past president of the NAEA.

During her year in office, Hytch visited the US twice as part of trade delegations representing the UK at global property symposiums.

Representatives from Norfolk agencies including Humberts, Watsons, Shipmans, Gilson Bailey, Parsons and Arnolds Keys also met with the NAR team, which was led by NAR Tampa Bay president, Tina Harris.

Jan Hytch hs set up the UK's first Property Academy at Norwich City College, to train people aged 16 to 18 how to become professional property agents - "a huge stride towards raising the standard of service in estate agency and lettings in the UK" according to the NAEA.

This concept is set to roll out to colleges across the country, and includes a professional qualification in business (BTec) and the NAEA's Technical Award in Property Management, Lettings and Estate Agency.
