We are the EAT & LAT team and we are delighted to write to you directly for the first time. We will be alternating each week with Editor-in-Chief, Graham Norwood, to fill this spot. This will give us the opportunity to keep you informed about the developments that are coming to EAT & LAT.

And now, we would also like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Industry Views, the latest section within the Estate Agent Today and Letting Agent Today publications. Hopefully you will have enjoyed reading the articles over the past few weeks. Our pool of expert contributors continues to grow and the subject matter becoming ever-more diverse.

This week, the Secret Agent ponders the question frequently asked of estate agents: Are we worth our fees Meanwhile, our conveyancing specialist Rob Hailstone recounts a day in the life of a residential conveyancer adding some interesting suggestions for how agents, brokers and conveyancers could work better together.

We have also started a six-part research series titled Young People in the Property Industry. The series began last week when our team detailed their hands-on experience of the type of estate agency training young agents receive. This week we interviewed Tom Harrington, owner of two agency businesses by the age of 24, to discover the challenges that face young entrepreneurs in the property industry.

In next week's Industry Views we will feature 'Letter from the Editor', as well as introducing you to Eddie Goldsmith, Chairman of the Conveyancing Association, who will be alternating with Rob Hailstone to deliver expertise in relation to searches, the land registry and the SRA.
