Berkshire estate agents Braxton partnered with MPL Interiors to increase the size of its Maidenhead High Street office and refit its new workplace environment. The catalyst for the project was the opportunity to take over the shop next door. MPL Interiors’ space planning skills were the first to be called into action, with the design and management team working closely with structural engineers to plan the amalgamation of the two units to create one open-plan space.

What followed was a thorough modernisation of the new workplace, which included a new feature ceiling with better lighting and illuminated recessed features, new floor coverings, a new staff area, a new kitchen, a new storage area and new washrooms.

Aesthetically, the interior is dramatically different, influenced by the clients’ desire to use the Braxton logo colours. A lavish front-of-house is characterised by the use of grey timber-effect porcelain floor tiles. These add a touch of flair but also durability in a high traffic area. This beautiful product was continued up the wall at the very front of the office to frame an inset LED screen – creating a real focal point and also drawing the eye of the passer by.

A Braxton blue carpet was then fitted to denote where the staff zone begins, with the same vibrant shade reflected in the waiting area chairs and in the LED lights that illuminate the Braxton 3D wall art. MPL Interiors also created a new glass office and supplied new office furniture – workstations with meticulously matched modesty panels that tie in with the porcelain floor, new computer chairs and new customer chairs. Finishing flourishes included a stylised mirror clock and back-illuminated acrylic panels showing historic images of Maidenhead. MPL Interiors is set to return for phase two of the refurbishment, which will see new bespoke outdoor signage and a revamped façade.
