The website whosoldwhere.co.uk, which lets would-be sellers see the recent track records of local agents in terms of deals done, has now launched to the public.

It launched to the industry in July and now claims to have over 700 agents currently displaying their For Sale, Sold and rental data on the site.

The number is expected to rise to 1,000 by the end of this year.

At launch, the site offered agents a free four-month trial, which is due to finish at the end of this month. From then on, prices will be between £800 and £1,000 per branch per year, depending on the number of branches. Agents signing up by the end of this year will pay a reduced rate of £600 per branch, fixed for two years.

The site allows prospective sellers to find the best-performing estate agents in their area over the last six, 12 and 24 months.

Users can search by price band or radius, to help them pinpoint exactly who are the most successful and suitable agents in terms of properties recently sold.

Sales for each estate agent are updated as soon as the deal is done. They are then verified with the Land Registry and listed with the price, description and date of the sale to provide as much information to a potential vendor as possible.

Images for each sold property are also provided, helping consumers identify exactly which homes the agent has sold.

Contact information for the agent is also provided, including telephone number and email address. What’s more, in addition to being able to see who has sold where in the past, you can view properties both for sale and rent in any chosen area. Users who register their details with the site will be able to save specific properties to their favourites and request further details from estate agents.

The site’s founder, Paul Kinsler, said: “Whosoldwhere doesn’t just display properties for sale, as there are plenty of other websites which do this. It allows vendors to see exactly for themselves who has a strong market share within a given area.”

The site also offers blogs written by top property writers.

Will it work? We’re sure you’ll let us have your views! The third link takes you to how we covered the story in July.

Just looked up my area and it would appear in the last six months some agents have sold as little as only one or two properties so I'm wondering how they keep going.

Not good at all for the small start ups/small companies

In the area i operate, lets hope this new site doesn't get about and vendors make decisions based on this information! otherwise i'll be fooked and the large corporates will continue to get larger!

Then again, this idea is already out there. This information can already be found on land registry and zoopa etc

Like the concept and look of the site. I guess with only 700 agents currently listing then there are areas lacking in sold data but this would change as more agents list. Interesting!

Just did a search and its very out of date, the busiest agent in my area sold loads of properties and it only show about 6 inc 2012.

Also, I think the pricing is well over priced!
