On the basis that this is the time of year when a little trivia goes down well (not to mention taking our minds off the unfolding eurozone crisis), we would like to mention that Corrie babe stunner Natalie Gumede used to work for an estate agent.

Natalie, who plays Kirsty Soames, apparently worked in the industry for three years, right up until three days before going on the Coronation Street set for the first time.

Sadly, her official biography skims over her time in the property industry, so we can’t tell you where she worked.

But perhaps a reader could enlighten us?

This is the evidence so far, supplied by an impeccable source (a Sunday tabloid):

Natalie had been at the estate agents three years when she received ‘the call’.
“I was in the corridor of a rented flat looking at a broken blind when my agent rang,” she recalls.
“He was on speaker phone and said: ‘It’s an offer on Corrie’.
“He was expecting me to scream and shout but because I was with the tenant all I could say was: ‘I’ll call you back’.
“It was July 1 and they told me I was to start filming on July 18. I’d known the boss at the estate agent a long time and didn’t want to let him down, so I worked until three days before.
“I wanted to do a good job but it was difficult to keep my mind on it.
“From that moment on, I just couldn’t concentrate on calling utility companies and sorting out service charges.”

So, if you worked alongside someone who ‘just couldn’t concentrate’ etc … (you know how it is) please let us know.

Corrie babe Natalie Gumede: I was an estate agent three days before joining ...

Who? Can't Roz find someone I've actually heard of?

    @ Michael
I bet she was more sworn at (being an estate agent) than she could actually swore herself. Must have been very frustrating for her.

I once employed Gordom Ramsey's sister as a sales negotiator in Taunton, does that count? She could swear quite a lot, but much less than he did.

    Got that wrong then.

When I heard she was an actress in Corrie, I assumed twas an abbreviation of a play what I wrote,
    Coriolanus.

And no, I didn't realise how much sniggering that would cause in schools when it tripped off my quill!.

    @TREVOR KENT

Corrie: Coronation Street is a British soap opera set in Weatherfield, a fictional town in Greater Manchester based on Salford. Created by Tony Warren, Coronation Street was first broadcast on 9 December 1960. It is produced in Manchester at the Granada Studios by Granada Television and shown in all ITV regions.

    Stunner: An exceptionally good-looking person.

    @ Fat Boy Agent

There's no auditions for fat boys and ex estate agents in the next Bond movie.

What is 'Corrie' please, and explain 'stunner'?

Surely there are more interesting ex-estate agents in the firmament, was Richard Branson's first job not in agency?
    Then there's me of course.

It's very likely that we'll go bust this spring. Any auditions for fat boys in the next Bond movie?
