It’s the kind of family home most agents would like to have on their books.

And in the case of this particular property, Myddelton & Major has had it for sale on all three of the occasions it has been on the market – in 65 years.

The property was built in the early 1940s and was then sold in 1948 by Myddelton & Major.

The firm has been unable to track down what the selling price was then, but 35 years later in 1983 it sold it for £35,000.

Now that purchaser has sold again, this time for around £332,500.

Myddelton & Major of Salisbury, Wiltshire, has been in business since 1903 and partner Paul Cadge, pictured, said: “We find that our loyal customers come back to us time and time again, but this is repeat business of a different kind.

“It is an honour to handle the sale of the same house three times over a period of 65 years as it passes through the generations.

“It demonstrates the longevity, detailed local knowledge, strength and expertise which have become our hallmark as a well established and trusted local firm in the property market.”
