Property portal Home has created some new statistic pages on its site which we reckon will make compulsive reading for agents wanting to check out their competitors and identify new market opportunities.

The new pages number each agent’s portfolio per branch (in all, 15,529 branches) to see what kind of property they are selling, the areas they cover, their market share and time on the market.

Director Doug Shephard said: “The idea here is to help potential vendors choose an agent who has experience in selling their kind of property.

“Buyers will also benefit as they will be able to identify agents who specialise in the kind of property they are looking for.”

For example, the page for Cheffins, of Cambridge, shows that the firm predominantly deals with four-bedroom detached properties around £300,000 to £400,000 and sells them in an average 74 days – just below the national average of 75 days.

Check it out below – and let us have your thoughts.

What a load of rubbish and misinformation. I looked at our area and each agents was being scored from different total figures for overall rating and ours were incorrect and I suspect are over 2 months out of date. Even I had difficulty making head to tail of the information that would benefit a vendor. What hope for Joe public?

Most damaging was the ratings i.e. Number 1 agent in the area which I suspect Joe public would be looking for after taking the headache tablets. They were rated using overall agents property stock figure 25% less than other agents claultaions... farce!
