The very first of the mapping property search websites has been bought by Zoopla.

OnOneMap has been acquired as part of Byteplay, which also included DotHomes.com, Extate.com and a whole host of local ‘propertygazette’ websites covering every main UK town.

The deal, for an undisclosed sum, means that all traffic to these sites is automatically routed to Zoopla and should result in more leads for agents.

Zoopla now directly owns a large range of local and national websites, including Propertyfinder and thinkproperty.

Yesterday, chief executive Alex Chesterman said Zoopla continues to mount a serious challenge to market leader Rightmove.

Zoopla recently won increased support and commitment from the three largest estate agent groups in the country, Countrywide, Connells and LSL Property Services, whose bosses now all have seats on Zoopla’s board.

Chesterman said: “Byteplay has a number of interesting assets which will allow us to better serve our member agents and provide even more inquiries and greater exposure.”
