You might not normally associate Foxtons with the slightly more down-town areas of town, but here’s a sign that Brixton could be the next big up-and-coming place.

On March 9, Foxtons is due to open in Brixton, in a former noodle bar.

The Speedy Noodle shut last September, having enjoyed cult status as a ‘love it or hate it’ place to go (sounds familiar).

The writer Will Self visited it after a walk through the local sewers last year, as you do. He described it as his ‘seminal noodle experience’ (at £4.50 for two, probably not over-priced) although he did describe the lighting as ‘on the vomitous side’.

Foxtons is already sending out its customary 0% commission letter to Brixton home owners. It doesn’t mention the lighting.

News is already spreading quickly on local blogs, with complaints that Brixton will soon be as gentrified as Clapham, full of estate agents, and someone else saying they once got a bad stomach at The Speedy Noodle but Foxtons will really upset it.

How unfair!
